July 1 – 27
The Center of Modern Art. “Marginal. Smile from the past” – a name of the exhibition presented by the art critics E. Iskhakova and he artist R. Imamberdyev. Its exposition included subjects from the city life dated from the beginning of the 20th century from the collection of Art Exhibition Direction, the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan, the Museum of S, Yesenin, private collections of B. Golender and the other collectors.

July 4 – 23
The personal Exhibition of the artist R. Khudaiberganov devoted to architectural landscape in his works was held at the Central Exhibition Hall. It presented forty works.

July 8 – August 12
“Window into world of plastics” – the personal exhibition of L. Nesterevich. About sixty works of the author – decorative vases, portraits, panels, zoomorphic figurines and others made from wood, stone, clay, chamotte, metal and the other materials were exposed at the Center of Modern Art.

July 11 – 31
At the exhibition “Jewelry art of Khorezm” at the Center of Modern Art were exposed about one hundred works from the collection of the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan and Direction of Art Exhibitions. The exposition was added by national costumes and painting.

July 25 – 31
The exhibition of the artist and miniaturist, A. Karimov was hold in the Indian Cultural Center. It exposed about thirty works of the artist. The opening ceremony was led by the artist B. Djalalov.

July 25 – August 25
“Uzbekistan: Traditions and Modernity” – the exhibition of a famous photo journalist, R. Shagaev originally summarized his 25 year-long activity in art. One hundred and five works were exposed at the Central Exhibition Hall through the agency of the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan (UzA), the Ministry for culture, the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan and Tashkent House of Photograph.

July 30 – August 20
At the Center of Modern Art was held the exhibition of Samarkand’s artists – “Saraton”. More than seventy works (painting, aquarelle, pastel, sculpture and ceramics) formed the exposition of N. Istomina, V. Ivaniv and A. Sherbakov. Through the agency of AA Uz and the Open Society Institute in Uzbekistan.

August 4 – 27
At the Central Exhibition Hall were exposed about fifty woks of leading masters in painting, graphics and sculpture from Egypt. The exhibition devoted to the 51st anniversary of the Revolution in Egypt and the 11th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and the Arab Republic of Egypt was organized by the AA Uz and the Center of Science and Education at the embassy of Egypt in Uzbekistan. The Ambassador of Egypt, Dr. Gamil Fayid and the Chairman of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, Tursunali Kuziev, opened the exhibition.

August 7 – 22
At the Center of Modern Art was held the exhibition “Lyrical motives in miniature”. The exposition included more than one hundred miniatures made from papier-mache, on paper, canvas, leather and textile. Authors and the Direction of Art Exhibitions gave the works for the exposition.

August 22 – September 10
The exhibition “Shine of Afrosiab” of Samarkand’s artists, A. Isaev, N. Kalonov and T. Iorkulov (about one hundred painting, graphic and sculptural works) was held at the Central Exhibition Hall. The exhibition was devoted to the 12th anniversary of Independence of the Republic.

August 28 – September 15
The personal exhibition of the national master, ceramist from Ghijduvan A. Narzullaev celebrating his 50th anniversary was held at the Central Exhibition Hall. It exposed about seventy works of the master.

August 29 – September 25
The republican art exhibition-competition “My mahalla” (about five hundred works) occupied all halls at the Center of Modern Art. The exhibition was devoted to the 12th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Day of Mahalla. Its organizers – the Direction of Art Exhibitions at AA Uz and the Gallery of National Bank – exposed a wide retrospective picture of painting works, graphics and sculpture both from own collections and from new works of Uzbek artists proposed to competition.

September 3 – 7
The exhibition of M. Fazylaev, “Poetry of mountains” devoted to the 12th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held at the Museum of S. Yesenin.

September 6 – 9
In China, in Changchun city was held the International simposium of the sculptors “Friendship, Pezce and Spring”. After the simposium, in the World Park of Sculpture were exhibited 1339 works performed by 364 artists from 79 countries. Uzbekistan was represented by the sculptor Dj. Mirtadjiev with his work of bronze “K. Bihzad”.

September 10 – 28
At the Museum of S. Yesenin, through the agency of OSI – Uzbekistan was held the joint exhibition of R. Abdulgalimov and T. Ganshina. The exhibition exposed over forty ceramic, graphic and aquarelle works, the majority of which was devoted to Bukhara.

September 11 – 18
At the Central Exhibition Hall, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, within the Week of Culture of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of Uzbekistan, held the exhibition of artists and masters in applied arts. The exposition presented 250 art pieces: painting, graphics, sculpture, photo, coroplastics and decorative applied art. Besides that, the Center of Education of the Republic of Korea in Uzbekistan presented the collection of 75 pieces of national Korean life and folklore.

September 12 – 28
“Reality ready to be. Ark.” This exhibition was held at the exhibition hall of “Ilkhom” Theatre. The author of the project, A. Nikolaev presented about twenty works – painting and installation. Switzerland Cooperation Agency supported this project.

September 16 – 26
About forty works of the Namangan artist, Kh. Usmanov formed the exposition of his personal exhibition at the Central Exhibition Hall.

September 19 – 21
“Vienna – Tashkent – Vienna. Common Space” – the joint action of the artists from Uzbekistan and Austria. About thirty works (painting and graphics) formed the exposition at the Central Exhibition Hall. Among the authors there are M.Buisman, M.Znojemsky, A.Ress, Cr.Mayer, M. Sadykov, L. Sadykova, I, Shin, V. Troshina, V. Yenin and A. Alikulov. The exhibition was devoted to the 12th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

September 23 – October 20
The exhibition “Traditional art of China” devoted to the 54th anniversary of the Chinese Republic proclamation and the 12th anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent caravan-seray of culture. The exposition presented pieces of ceramics, national umbrellas, fans and others. The ambassador of the Chinese National Republic Chjan Chi Min and the chairman of AA Uz Tursunali Kuziev participated in the opening ceremony.

September 25 – 27
At the Center of Modern Art was held the photo exhibition “Uzbekistan – Scotland: the world by eyes of Lord George Robertson”. Its author is George Robertson, General Secretary of NATO, coming to our country with an official visit. The exposition presented about fifty works, many of which are devoted to the ancient cities of Uzbekistan – Bukhara and Samarkand. Lord George Robertson and the chairman of AA Uz, Tursunali Kuziev participated in the opening ceremony.
