The Center of Modern Art held the exhibition “Modern Applied Art of Japan”. It presented the works reflecting the most typical features of Japanese crafts – ceramics, painted materials and glaze things.
October 2 – 12
At the exhibition hall of the Board of Societies of Friendship and Cultural Contacts of Uzbekistan with foreign countries there was a personal exhibition of T. Inaridze, a member of the Academy of Arts of Georgia that was organized by the Society of Friendship “Uzbekistan”-”Georgia”. Almost 50 works in painting-on-silk were first exposed in Central Asia.
October 2 – November 20
At the Museum of S.Yesenin were exhibited the works of the artist V.Budaev who presented about 70 pictures and graphic works.
October 10 – 18
The personal exhibition of Yusif Guseinov at the Central Exhibition Hall presented about 30 works. “Theatre” line of themes penetrates pictures, theatrical and cinema works of Guseinov. The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Uzbekistan promoted the exhibition.
October 11 – 21
“Women: New Century, New Image, New Role” was the International Photo Exhibition arranged by the regional office of the United Nations Women’s’ Human Rights Program (UNIFEM) in CIS countries jointly with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Uzbekistan. The exhibition was at the Center of Modern Art and presented 180 art pieces.
October 18 – November 6
At the Central Exhibition Hall, on the initiative of the graphic section, was held the exhibition “Synthesis”, which exposed the works of more than 30 young and well-know artists presenting models in various styles from decorative one up to non – standard plastic solutions in a form of non – figured painting and installation. The motto of the exhibition: “From sight to abstract thinking”.
October 21 – 24
About 30 works were presented at the exhibition of Egyptian artists at the Central Exhibition Hall timed to the 10th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and the Arab Republic of Egypt. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of ARE, Gamil Said Abraham Fayed took a speech at the opening ceremony of the vernissage.
October 23 – November 2
The Exhibition “Bukhara Plein Air” was held at the Center of Modern Art. Artists in graphics, aquarellists, artists and architects, designers and photographers took part in it.
October 24 – November 6
The Center of Modern Art held the Exhibition “Advertising in Germany”. Thirty-two show – benches presented 150 – year history of commercial advertising in Germany from its initial period.
October 25 – November 1
The Exhibition “Light and Shadow” at the Indian Cultural Center presented 25 graphic works and sculptures of B. Litvinenko and A.Khatamov, members of the Union of Artists at the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan. The ambassador of India in Uzbekistan Mr. Sharat Sabarval was its honorary guest.

“Autumn Vernissage of Fergana Artists” was the exhibition at the Central Exhibition Hall. Artists, artists in graphics, textile, porcelain, chasers, potters and tapestry artists demonstrated their works.
October 25 – November 7
The Exhibition “Nature, we are your children.” was held at the Center of Modern Art. It was the first experience to show relations of Man and Nature by means of fine arts using animal subjects in the art of Uzbek artists. The exposition included almost 300 pieces – painting, sculpture, things of folk applied art and others.
October 25 – November 10
At the house – museum of U. Tansikbaev was held the personal exhibition of Dilyus Mursalimov, a member of the Union of Artists at the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan. It presented 60 works of the artist in painting and graphics.
September 10 – October
Almost 30 pictures of the famous Usbek artist Asliddin Isaev were exposed at his personal exhibition at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in USA (Washington). Key theme of the works – life of the Uzbek people, their traditions and customs. Representatives of foreign diplomatic missions were guests at the opening ceremony.
November 4 – 16
The Center of Modern Art under the auspices of the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia held the exhibition “Reflections” of Ludmila Greenberg. The exposition consisted of more than 60 works. Charge d’affaires a.i. the Republic of Latvia Mr. Igors Apokins and Consul Mrs. Alda Hoola were guests at the opening ceremony.
November 4 – 17
The Central Exhibition Hall held the exhibition devoted to the 70th anniversary of sculptor, artist in graphics and painting Robert Avakyan who died shortly before the jubilee. The exhibition presented more than 50 works.
November 11 – 17
“My Native Land” was the name of the exhibition of the artist from Namangan Pulatkhon Jalilov, who exposed about 120 works.
November 12 – 28
The Center of Modern Art held the exhibition of Khakim Mirzaakhmedov, “The Way to Oneself”. The author participated in many republican and international exhibitions. The artist prefers genres of landscape and plein air. The exhibition exposed about 70 works of last ten years.
November 15 – 24
Art-Center “Harmony” at the International Female Fund “SharqAioli” held the Exhibitions “Colours of Autumn”. About 30 pieces of painting, graphics, ceramics, painting-on-silk and batic were exposed there.
November 18 – 20
The opening of the exhibition of famous artists, members of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan A. Mirzo, B. Djalal and A.Nur was at the Central Exhibition Hall. At the same time was the presentation of the week calendar for 2003 illustrated by the works of these artists.
November 22 – December 1
The Center of Modern Art held the exhibition of artists from Southern-Kazakhstan region timed to the 10th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republics of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The exposition presented painting works, pieces of applied arts and photo performed by Kazakhstan artists. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Uzbekistan, U. Uzbekov visited the opening ceremony.
November 22 – December 5
The International Exhibition “Inner Asia” arranged by the public organization “Art – Novosibirsk” and the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan was held at the Central Exhibition Hall. This project became extraordinary cultural phenomenon uniting Central Asian region in the intention to expose the world by metaphoric means of modern art.
November 22 – December 14
More than 60 works were exposed at the Central Exhibition Hall at the personal exhibition of Djurat Rakhmani devoted to the 50th anniversary of the famous artist.
November 25 – December 15
“Pursuit of Beauty” was the personal exhibition of the national artist of Uzbekistan, Academician of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, Akmal Ikramdjanov at the Central Exhibition Hall. The exhibition was devoted to the 50th anniversary of the artist. Deputy State Adviser of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, A. Meliboev took a speech at the opening ceremony.
November 29 – December 8
The Indian Cultural Center held the exhibition of the works performed by the students of the Bukhara College of Applied Arts. It exposed about 100 pieces: gold embroidery, miniatures, tapestry and others. The Ambassador of India Mr. Sharat Sabarval and Chairman of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan T. Kuziev were honorary guests.
December 9 – 19
The Center of Modern Art held the Photo – Exhibition “Dialogue With Nature” of the Japanese photo artist Daisaku Ikeda, the President of the International Buddhist Society “Soka Gakkai International”.
December 10 – 20
The First Tashkent International Art Photo Competition “Our Dear Old” was held at the Tashkent House of Photo. The exposition presented more than 400 works of 164 artists. Deputy Prime – Minister Kh. Karamatov took a speech at the opening ceremony. The Chairman of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan T. Kuziev opened the exhibition.
December 11 – 13
The Center of Modern Art held the exhibition of the Japanese artist, Honorary Academician of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan Ikuo Hirayama “On the Great Silk Road”. I. Hirayama was awarded the gold medal of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan for the circle of works devoted to this famous road.
